Overpriced PSP Accessories

advertisement

I recently wanted to get a PSP screen protector and a silicon case. When I went to FutureShop, however, I saw that the price of one screen protector was something that I did not have in mind. The price was $10 for just one tiny plastic sheet. When I saw the price, I was in shock. How could one small sheet of plastic cost so much?

I then decided to go to eBay in hopes of finding a better, more affordable screen protector and I did. The price difference is huge between the eBay products and the FutureShop ones. There was an offer for 3 screen protectors and the price was only $2.50, but I didn't need 3 screen protectors so I decided to search around a little longer and saw another offer. The offer was 1 silicon case, 1 screen protector, and a USB cable charger for the PSP. Normally, offers like that would cost more than $10, but on eBay it cost only $1 plus shipping.

I thought to my self that there was no way some person would offer something like that for so little, it had to be one of those cheap products, but when the products came, I was amazed by the quality. Not only did I not spend $9 extra on a sheet of plastic, but I also got quality products that I'm still using today.

School and Gaming

advertisement

School would be fine if the teachers gave us no homework or assignments. We would be able to play games all night long without having to worry about the project that's due on Monday or the assignment that's due tomorrow.

Why I don't like school
I hate school for a lot of reasons, but my top reason is gaming.

Not only does school prevent me from midnight gaming, but it also forces me to play non-RPG games and I love RPG games. Most RPG games such as Final Fantasy have places where you can save the game, but say you're on a quest and you have to kill this rare monster or find these rare items and it's 11:00 PM at night, your parents would come bursting in your room telling you to go to sleep which would piss you off if you were almost done the quest.

You cannot save the game at anytime in RPG games, you would have to go to the save point and save the game there otherwise you would have to find the item again or the monster and kill him.
That has happened to me a lot, I would find an extremely rare item and my parents would come in my room, turn off my T.V and PS2 and force me to bed. That has pissed me off because some of the items only appears 1/9000 times so you can imagine how many more items I would have to try to search for it hoping I would find it.

Why I like school
School makes losers get a life. They can go there and learn about the subjects, but at the same time make real life friends and not Internet friends living 2000 miles away.

Some games use english terms such as metaphors and personifications that most people don't know of. A loser would say "What the heck? Are the developers a bunch of idiots? A boat can't cry...". Also, some games include lot's of science terms and facts, most gamers would not understand what's going on or what the heck the characters would be talking about.

I could go on and on, but I don't have time for today.

What do you guys think about school and gaming?

Remembering old games - Need for Speed 4: High Stakes

advertisement

Need for Speed 4 was an awesome game that will go down in history. The game had awesome graphics and sound, the graphics were so good that some people though it was a PS2 game when I showed them it. This was one of those games which are really good and people will remember.

The graphics:

Pros: The graphics are so good that some people considered it a PS2 game when I showed to them. The textures are nicely done with lots of detail along with the road. The road has lighting which you don't expect to see in PS1 games. There are skid marks which are awesome. There's lighting on the cars window, they don't reflect, but it's still good. Also, the cars have lighting on them which makes the car more realistic.

Cons: The background is not so great, it's been terribly shrunk as in resolution to the state where a person can see the pixels, and pixels are not suppose to be seen.

The audio:

Pros: Need for Speed 4: High Stakes features an awesome techno track or as some people would say: "electronic"music. Here's a soundtrack from the game:

As you can tell, the music is really good, I sometimes turn on the game just to listen to the music.
If you listen to rap only, then I'm guessing you'd be saying "that sucks".

Cons: I really can't find any, the sound is so good, the developers did an excellent job.

The gameplay:

The gameplay would be very good if the developers of the game didn't give the computer an advantage.

Pros: It is very easy to steer a car that has high handling. Car's like the Porsche 911 have high acceleration which can make a difference between winning and losing in a race.

Cons: This is probably the worst thing about the game, this has frustrated me when I played NFS 4: High Stakes. The computer has the ability to accelerate faster then you, brake better then you, steer better, go over the top speed limit(the cars top speed limit, not the road), and it also has the ability to accelerate at a constant rate with the brake on!

That is really not fair for the user. It gives the computer an advantage which is really cheap. I have tried mimicing the computer, but failed only to have to face my anger. I almost broke my PS1 once because of my anger, I hate the developers so much for giving the computer an unfair advantage.

To rap things up, this is an awesome game which I recommend you to buy(warning: do not buy it if you are attending an anger mangement class).

Have fun. :)

You can't play games when you're fat

You can't play games when you're fat, your fingers will be too bulky and fat for you to play a game.
If you are a PC gamer, you can't play games because when you try to press a button with your finger, you'll be pressing multiple buttons at once.

If you're a console gamer, then it might be different, you cannot play any console expect for the Wii because you use a remote with the Wii and the buttons are far apart from each other.
The Wii is a great way to lose fat and weight so get out there fatties and buy a Wii.

There are a lot of reasons why you can't be a gamer if you're fat, as I mentioned above your fingers will be too fat. Another reason is when you sit down at your chair, if you happen to have fat on your neck then that's a problem, how would you look at the monitor? You would have to hang it on the wall for you to see it and play.

All you fatties out there, go get some exercise!
And even if you're not fat, do some exercises do make sure that you don't end up being fat.

Any comments are welcome.

God of War: Chains of Olyumpus

I recently got God of War: Chain of Olympus for the PSP. The game is not that good although I do have a good time playing it.
The reason why it's not good is because it doesn't have a story line like all the other PSP games. Unlike God of War games for the PS2, this one has no story, in God of War 1, you are Kratos who is trying to get revenge upon Ares for making you kill your own wife, in God of War 2, you get sick of being a God and head out to kill innocent people but then Zeus tricks you into using the Blade of Olyumpus which actually steals all of your Godly powers and makes you into a mere human which makes you seek revenge upon Zeus once he comes down to earth and kills all of your army with the Blade of Olyumpus.

Wow, that was along explanation. Heh, well anyways the PSP is an awesome handheld device, I wish I had a PS3 to make it even more awesome with PSP remote play.

Any comments are welcome.

PSP's Rule!

advertisement

I just got my PSP about two days ago and let me tell you, it rules!
I modded it as soon as I got it, it had a 3.80 firmware installed on it by Sony. I used Pandoras battrey and a magic memory stick that my friend let me borrow and let me tell you, it took only five minutes to mod.
Yup, five measly minutes to mod.

I bought the Daxters Pack which comes with a 1 GB memory stick, daxters game plus family guy videos. The memory stick is good for putting PS1 games on, but it's not good if you're going to want the newest games since they're over a GB.

If you have a PS3 and a PSP, you could use remote play which lets you play PS3 games, PS2 games or PS1 games on your PSP. Remote play connects the PSP with the PS3 which forms a LAN like connection, most of the games you play on the PS3 can be played on the PSP in HD.

You can also put music on your PSP, and movies. It can be used as a big MP3 player, but don't try to sneek it in to class as you will get caught. It's way too big to be put in your pockets.

Another thing is wLAN, it's an awesome tool for networking your router to your PSP. The best part is, it's so easy to do. You don't even need the USB adapter for the router, the PSP is most likely to be able to connect to your router, how clever is Sony for putting that handy tool in?
I'll tell you. Very clever, not only can you go on the Internet, but you can also use Skype as a messenger to talk to your friends and there's also an Internet radio.

Overall, the PSP is a handy console that will stay on the market for quite a while just like the PS2, there's still new games coming out for it and it's still a live.

Too much gaming?

Is there such a thing as too much gaming?

A parents answer would be of course, but if that parent were to be a gamer, then the answer will vary.
My answer is no, gaming is something that you need, it's something that I use to kill the time otherwise I'd be cutting my self since Toronto has messed up weather. One day, it's 10 degress C outside, the other it's -10 degress C.
So you can imagine what would happen to me if I were to go outside and play a sport like basket-ball.

Gaming is something that keeps on going and going like if you were to keep running, it would never end since the Earth is a circle and you would be going around in circles.

I'm pretty sure if schools were to make a period which all you do is play games, most people's marks will go up to the 80's.

My dad thinks I play too much games, I laugh when he says that. I mean I only play games for 10 hours straight, that's not that much, is it?

Anyways, how long do you guys play for?

I miss classic PS1 games

I miss the old classic PS1 games like Final Fantasy 7, and 9.
They were the best!
I used to hate Final Fantasy games, but then my friend told me about them and let me borrow Final Fantasy. At first I though this was going to be a disappointment, but as I got further into the game, I wanted to play it more, I had the urge to keep on playing until I finished the game. I never finished Final Fantasy to this day, I still have the game that my friend let me borrow.
I'm pretty sure my friend is looking for the game right now thinking "where did I put it?".

Tomb Raider is also another one, I finished Tomb Raider II, and Tomb Raider V, they were pretty awesome. I'm still not done Tomb Raider IV.

If I had a PSP with me right now, I'd be playing Final Fantasy 7 and 9, and Tomb Raider IV until I finished them.
Too bad I don't.

Halo 4 - A new fight

Will there be a Halo 4?
I'm not sure to tell you the truth, but if they do make one, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a new fight.

Spartans and elites can't live together, they just can't.
It's wrong, they should be killing each other, not liking each other.

They should be like in Halo 1, and Halo 2 where they kill each other, I want to see blood, I don't want to see love, that's just wrong.
If Halo 4 does every come out, the fight should start like this:

F.E.A.R Combat - A free multiplayer version of F.E.A.R

F.E.A.R Combat is a free online only version of F.E.A.R, it was released on August 17, 2006.

Once you go to their site, you have to input your birthday so that they can make sure you're not under the age of 18, but I personally think that it's useless, anyone can input an age of 18+.
So that being said, you have to register and enter a validate e-mail address that you know the password of, otherwise you'll end up with no cd-key which is required to play the game.

I think it's awesome that they released this, most company's only focus in on the money and that's what I don't like.

This game is awesome, I play it every other day.
Also, you have to have punkbuster enabled for most servers otherwise you'll get kicked automatically.

So go their site:

http://www.joinfear.com/main

And download it, and I'll see you ingame.

Rappelz Online - A free MMORPG

advertisement

I've been playing rappelz for quite a while now, it's a really good MMORPG.
Rappelz Online is not like the rest, it has unique quests, great gameplay and graphics.

What I like about Rappelz is that it's not all about leveling up and training or getting rich, but it's about completing quests and participating in events.

When you first begin the game in Rappelz, you start off in a place where all the newbies go.
You have to talk to a trainer who will tell you the basics like skills and weapons, then he will give you quests, and the last quest that he gives you makes you go to another trainer who is more advanced and she gives you armor.

Once you're done with her, you will go to a place known as Trainee Camp, there you will take on more advanced quests and subquests, after, you go to the seashore where you have to kill 3 very hard monsters, but it's worth it because after you killed them you can choose a job which pretty much means a class.

There are 3 races, Gaian, deva, and asura.
Each race has 3 starter jobs which divide into 2 or 3 jobs after you achieve a high level.

Well that's it, sorry I couldn't write more, I'm only level 20 :P.

If you want to download this game, click me. :D

Final Fantasy XIII / 13 - Trailer

Final Fantasy XIII looks to be a promising game for the PS3.
It looks like a very good game from the trailer, but as the old saying goes "You can't judge a book by it's cover.".
I hope Final Fantasy 13 will be an awesome game otherwise I got my hopes up for nothing.

The graphics in FFXIII is just awesome. It's very hard or you can't tell the difference between the gameplay and the videos
In the PS2 FF series, you can tell the difference between actual gameplay or a video easily, but in the PS3 FF series, it's very hard to distinguish between the two due to PS3's powerful cell powered processor.

Anyway, that's all I could figure out, the sound is also great.
Here's a trailer of FFXIII:

Halo PC v1.07 - Tips - Part 1 - Lag shots / Shooting

advertisement

I always see newbies on Halo saying "I shot you in the head, how come you didn't die?" and "WHAT THE HELL? I sticked the nade on you and it just fell down, wtf?".

In Halo PC, you must beat lag, it's not like counter-strike where you aim at the enemy, shoot and kill him.
In Halo PC, you have to shoot where the person is going to go, for example, a person is going to the left side, I have to shoot left of him to get the shot on him.
I can't just aim at his head and expect a hs, I have to beat lag so I aim to the side of his direction and shoot.

Practice this in the average latency which you play on.
Don't go into high latency servers or messed up servers which have lag bumps, it'll be extremely irritating to find out that your shot wasn't registered.
You may also consider playing in an average latency server like me, I don't go on servers that have 60 latency and then suddenly go to another server which has a latency of 130.
I would suck in the server that had the 130 latency.
Why you ask? Because if I was playing on a server that had 60 latency for an hour, and then I suddenly went to a server that had a latency of 160, my aim would be horrible, I would get confused between where to shoot.

Different latencys affect on where you shoot, if I was on a server with a low latency, I would shoot not to far from the head, if I was on a high latency server, I would have to practice in order to figure out which is the best place to shoot.

Practice your shooting on a server with an average latency of <80 and when you mastered it, go to a high latency server.
This will make you get used to the latencys and make you an overall better player.

That's all for part 1.

Any comments are welcome.

Final Fantasy 12 - How to get the zodiac spear

advertisement

The zodiac spear is the most powerful weapon in the game.
It has an awesome attack of +150 and like all spears, +8 evasion.
To obtain the zodiac spear, you must not open chests in these four areas:

1) Treasure chest in Lowtown, outside of Old Dalan's place
2) When sneaking into the palace (Before getting the Goddess Tear), there are several chests in the Cellar. Do not open the two chests in the southeast corner.
3) All treasure chests in the Confiscatory (the place where you get your weapons and armor back after being captured)
4) In the Phon Coast, later in the game, there is an island with 16 chests all near each other. The 4th chest that must NOT be opened is among these, so it is best to leave them all alone. They only contain Gil anyway.

If you didn't open any of those chests, the zodiac spear will be the Necrohol of Nabudis.

Here's a video showing you where to go in the Necrohol of Nabudis:

Counter-Strike 1.6 - Bhop Script Tutorial / Guide

advertisement

I always see people bunny hoping in cs and it got me wondering how they did it.
Then I found the bhopscript and it was easy as that.

Follow this simple tutorial if you want the script:

- Download bhopscript.cfg

- Copy and paste the bhopscript.cfg in your Valve folder that's inside the Counter-Strike 1.6 folder

- Right click on your cs 1.6 shortcut and select Properties

- Where it says Target:, it should say the shortcuts directory like "somewhere/Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike.exe"

- At the end of the shortcut, add this:

- console +exec bhopscript.cfg

That's it, test it out by running counter strike with that shortcut.

Enjoy. :)
